OUR VISION
Sky Lords Media is named after the "Sky Lords" as they appear in the
Ouranian Chronicles (OC). As the OC's Chronologer (narrator) reveals,
the Sky Lords stand at the end of the bridge that leads to the Ideal.
They are the First Selves, tirelessly influencing us Second Selves
towards an ideal outcome for humanity.
SLM's mission is to point readers towards that Ideal,
and thereby towards a future worth striving for.
We seek to reinvigorate the concept of the Ideal as the OC’s "First World,”
also known as “our erstwhile home.”
As the Chronologer reports in Masks of God's opening “Confession”:
to remember our true Selves, we must avoid the end-of-life memory purge
and refrain from drinking from the proverbial River of Forgetfulness.
To succeed at this, we are required to respond to the Guardians of Mnemosyne,
the Pool of Memory, with a secret watchword—
revealed in the introductory chapter of Masks of God.
We are driven by a spirit of optimism about the future
because we believe that “the future is stone, but the past is water.”
Meaning history is but the process of the ideal past emerging.
